I’ve confessed before that I am not the most domestic wife ever. In fact, I only clean because I have to. I do not love to clean. I do not enjoy cleaning. I clean because it’s necessary and I do like having a clean home. Cleaning isn’t innate for me. I have to work at it. While I would love to be a part of the group of the world who is OCD or neat freaks, I am not from that planet. I would be perfectly fine to live in a home that had a maid to come and clean up after all of us, but that’s not in my budget. Alas, I must clean and I must get my children and husband involved in the cleaning too.
The chore that leads the way in the most hated chore list is … laundry. Laundry in and of itself isn’t terrible. It’s the folding and putting away of laundry that is what I hate to do. I can wash and dry clothes with the best of them, but putting them away and folding them is a chore that I could live without. I used to have the chair in the corner of the room. You know, the chair where clean clothes go to wait to be worn again. The one where no one sits in but only clothes live there. Things got so bad that I even had a room – yes, a WHOLE room – dedicated to clothes just waiting to be worn again.
Then one day, I ran across a Youtube video by athomewithnikki where she gave a tip on how she keeps up with her laundry and it was like a lightbulb went off in my head. It was my aha moment. I thought, I could do this! So I implemented the tip and made a mental note to come and tell everyone of the good word that I was given; you know, because sharing is caring. So, here is me sharing the tip.
This tip is so amazing and so simplistic that you will kick yourself for not doing it sooner. It’s something that should be a no brainer, but for someone like me who has a month’s supply of underwear and no desire to do laundry, this tip was like gold to me.
I hope you enjoy the video. Until next time, journey on!
